Late 1940’s – early 1950’s R.C.Y.C. Official Measurer

     Late 1940’s – early 1950’s  R.C.Y.C. Official Measurer

Don’t know how or when he got started or when he finished but this was the time he was the Official Measurer at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.   Making sure the thoroughbreds of the yachting world, 6 Meters, 8 Meters and visiting racing yachts were up to the rules.  The club was well aware of his love for design, his mathematic skills and educational choice of Mechanical Engineer at the University of Toronto. This made him the perfect measurer.   He could now see how the numbers worked and how fast the boats went.  This change affects that, this line makes her better upwind, this line downwind. Sail area, L.O.A, water line…..

All the numbers started to add up.

And by his side was a Lufkin Chrome Clad 100’ Anchor tape and his trusted slide ruler.
